Christian Fellowship
Has it ever occurred to you that one hundred pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other? They are of one accord by being tuned, not to each other, but to another standard to which each one must individually bow. So one hundred worshippers meeting together, each one looking away to Christ, are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be were they to become "unity" conscious and turn their eyes away from God to strive for closer fellowship. Social religion is perfected when private religion is purified.

By being adopted into God's family we can have an instant bond with fellow believers that goes beyond what we can have in special interest groups or social activities. The scriptures give us a common world view and foundation to build relationships on. However, unity should not be confused with uniformity we are individuals and our diversity is something that God cherishes. In Revalations we read,
ReplyDelete"After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10and crying out with a loud voice, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!"
